Open Chess & Curry Evening
Join us for a memorable evening of chess, camaraderie, and our renowned curry as we celebrate the Oriental Club's 200th anniversary. Held for the eighth consecutive year, our lively midsummer chess event is a favourite among players of all levels in the chess circle.
We will meet at 6.30pm for refreshments (teas & coffees) followed by a 7.00pm start of chess games which will be held, for the first time, in our covered outdoor venue, the Shamiana. We will play round-robin ten-minute games, in different categories of skill, producing multiple winners. As is customary for this occasion, there will be SPECIAL PRIZES for the best performers.
Dinner will then await us in the Main Drawing Room at 9.00pm. The menu will feature an Indian Street Food starter, a Curry Buffet, Dessert, accompanied by Club Red and White Wines and, of course, all capped off with a glass of Port at the end a marvellous evening at £75.00 per person.
